Juneteenth is a Company Holiday

Today is Juneteenth, a holiday that has been little celebrated
in past years. As president of Big Pine Consultants LLC, I will say that I had
not been educated about this holiday in any history class in grade school or college
and I wish that it had not taken current events to bring this to my attention.

Juneteenth celebrates the date in 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation
Proclamation, when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned that they had
been freed through Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger’s “General Orders, Number 3.” Big
Pine Consultants is taking time today to appreciate the richness that people of
color have brought to the lives of all Americans. Big Pine Consultants LLC declares
today, June 19th, to be a company holiday and will donate to the
