Environmental and Archaeological Planning

Big Pine Consultants LLC, an environmental and archaeological planning company, was started by Justin C. Johnston, MS, MBA after consulting for over 15 years on environmental planning for projects ranging from 316b studies of fish in the cooling water intake structures of power plants to wetland delineation, migratory raptor surveys, endangered plant surveys and permitting for wind farms to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) environmental report preparation and support for pipelines, compressor stations, and natural gas processing facilities.

Mr. Johnston was trained as a biologist / aquatic ecologist at Central Michigan University (MS) before entering his consulting career. He also completed his MBA (2015) at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he lives with his family. Mr. Johnston started Big Pine Consultants in May of 2018 with the goal of growing a people-centric environmental and archaeological planning consulting company that focuses on continuously improving the lives of communities, clients, and employees.
